The boat that leaves from Canada is a different company with a different name. Niagara City Cruises runs the Voyage to the Falls Boat Tour out of 5920 Niagara Parkway in Niagara Falls, Ontario — a 20-minute run to the base of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls from CA$47.95, and it is the official and only boat operator for Niagara Parks on the Canadian side. Same falls, same soaking, same style of poncho. Different dock, different currency, different country.

That distinction is what this tour is built around. Over the Falls Tours, the operator, states it on the listing itself: the Maid of the Mist portion of this tour departs from the US side. You ride the American boat, then cross into Ontario for the viewpoints and the tower. If you are already standing in Canada and want to be on the water this afternoon, the boat you are looking for is Niagara City Cruises — asking for the Maid at a Canadian ticket window gets you nowhere.

What the Canadian side does not have is the boat this tour is named after — that is a US-side departure, collected on the way over. The day is built to give you both: the water-level ride from New York, then the panorama, the tower and the tunnels from Ontario.

The listing sells as two options and they are not interchangeable. Canadian Side Tour Summer/Fall includes the Maid of the Mist. Canadian Side Tour Winter includes Journey Behind the Falls and states outright that it does not include the boat. The switchover tracks the boat's season — April 24 to November 8 in 2026 — and weather can move it. If the boat is the reason you are booking, confirm the option name at checkout, not the tour title.

One more scheduling quirk worth knowing: the pickup time is earlier than the departure time shown on the voucher, and the operator confirms it with you separately after booking.

What that buys is the part first-time visitors underestimate: pickup at your door on either side of the river, the border crossing handled as a group with the paperwork explained before you reach the booth, tolls and parking absorbed, and no walk between the American boat dock and the Ontario promenade in wet shoes.
